September 2008. The drive from Utah was great, and the scenery here is enticing. I have traveled this area many times when I was a kid, but this is the first time I have fished this river. I think it’s pretty important to bring a drift boat or get a guide. There is just so much water to cover, and without someone who really knows where to go, I feel a little overwhelmed. We have 5 guys in our party, and one is a new fly fisherman. But the rest of us are usually pretty successful every time we go out; usually. But we have been working it for two days straight and maybe we have caught 5 fish combined. Tomorrow we are going to go to the Beaverhead. This guy we talked to can't stop raving about it.
